is it worth the ability to move faster....

as opposed to fast casting?

If your taking it as secondary you cant have the primary attribute, so as mo/me you wont be able to cast any faster than mo/r. but mo/r has exactly the same armour as any monk...
If you really want to move fast, go r. but overall id say me has the better skills.

would also add Mesmers have decent skills if you run short on energy you can steal some from an enemay.

Yeah, Mo/Me is the most common type monk. With protection prayers you wont have to worry about running.
